Softball Recap: Geneva Find Success

Geneva's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lyman Greyhounds an 11-0 shutout. Considering the Knights have won three matches by more than ten runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ella Ingram was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Bastian, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Geneva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lyman only posted an OBP of .250.

Geneva's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Lyman, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Geneva will venture away from home to take on Orangewood Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lyman, they will head out on the road to face off against Colonial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
