Volleyball Game Preview: Doherty Spartans vs. Pine Creek Eagles + How To Watch

Doherty is 0-10 against Pine Creek since October of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Spartans will head out to face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Doherty took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Vista Ridge 3-0. The Spartans not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0).

One reason for the win was Doherty's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Pine Creek made easy work of Vista Ridge on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-16.

Doherty's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Pine Creek, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Doherty suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Pine Creek when the teams last played back in September. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
