Volleyball Recap: Cary-Grove Comes Up Short

Cary-Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Addison Trail Blazers. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blazers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

Addison Kessler paced Cary-Grove's offense, picking up nine kills. Kessler got some help from Morgan Evelo and her 12 assists. Audrey Neuses controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Cary-Grove's loss dropped their record down to 6-23. As for Addison Trail, with the victory, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 10-17.

Cary-Grove has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against East Peoria on the 11th. Hopefully Addison Trail paid attention to the Trojans' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Trojans at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
