Football Recap: Keene Skates Past Hampton Prep with Ease

Keene got themselves on the board against Hampton Prep on Friday, but Hampton Prep never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hampton Prep 46-0. Fans of the Chargers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

The critical scores for Keene came from Reece Ely, Bernard Iban, Josiah Ortega, Daiden Duncan, Payton Burkett, and Glant Phillip.

Keene was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 424 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Keene didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ely.

Keene pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Hampton Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Keene will take on McKinney Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hampton Prep, they will face off against UME Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hampton Prep will be up against the EAGLES' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
