            Baseball Recap: Damien Spartans vs. Bishop Amat Lancers        
        
		
        
        
            Damien lost against Bishop Amat back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Saturday. The Damien Spartans took  a  6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Amat Lancers. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Andrew Torres was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  tossed five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   four  hits.
 On the hitting side, Damien saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Michael Mansour, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-1.  Ryan Boyle also deserves some recognition as  he  brought in his first  RBI of the season.
Damien now  has a losing record of 2-3. As for Bishop Amat,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 4-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Damien will welcome St. John Bosco  at 3:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. Damien's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2  runs per game  this season, so St. John Bosco's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bishop Amat, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Paul  at 3:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Bishop Amat: 2.8, St. Paul: 1.7) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
