Baseball Recap: St. Bernard's Comes Up Short

St. Bernard was the 6-3 winner over Ferndale when they last played one another on April 3rd, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 9-8 on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Crusaders have lost by just one run.

Tyler Maples was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Adam Wagner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

St. Bernard's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 13-5. As for Ferndale, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: St. Bernard's beat the Wildcats by a score of 9-1 on Thursday.
