Flag Football Recap: Aubrie Baruch Key Part of Team Effort in Lancers Win + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but La Serna had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 19-7 victory over the Mira Costa Mustangs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Serna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubrie Baruch, who rushed for 86 yards, and also threw for 79 yards and two TDs while completing 83.3% of her passes. Lexi Avila was in the mix as well, providing the Lancers with two scores.

La Serna didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Baruch and Avila were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece. Another thorn in Mira Costa's side was Natalia Marquez, who made ten total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

La Serna's win bumped their record up to 14-11-1. As for Mira Costa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Coming up, La Serna will challenge Foothill at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Knights' defense has only allowed 9.2 points per game this season, so the Lancers' offense will have their work cut out for them. Mira Costa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
