Recap: Suwannee Bulldogs vs. Baker County Wildcats
It was a good run, but the Suwannee Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 59-35 defeat at the hands of Baker County. Suwannee lost against Baker County in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-45 score last time.
It was another big night for Yamise Haygood, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals for Baker County. The matchup was Haygood's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaniah Blake, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Suwannee's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Baker County, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Suwannee will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hamilton County at 4:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Baker County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West Nassau at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
