Soccer Game Preview: West Chicago vs. Riverside-Brookfield

The West Chicago Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Riverside-Brookfield took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on West Chicago, who comes in off a win.

West Chicago will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Saturday, then bounced right back against Fenton on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past the Bison 6-0. The game marked West Chicago's most dominant victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Riverside-Brookfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Glenbrook North. While losing is never fun, Riverside-Brookfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Glenbrook North are ranked 22nd).

West Chicago's win bumped their record up to 3-4-3. As for Riverside-Brookfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

West Chicago was able to grind out a solid victory over Riverside-Brookfield in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, winning 3-1. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
