Basketball Recap: Keilen Dalton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Portland over Whites Creek

The Portland Panthers were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 47-42 to the Whites Creek Cobras. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Portland lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Keilen Dalton, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 14 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Ferguson, who posted ten points.

Jaton Gordon produced another solid effort going 6-for-10 on his way to 22 points and three steals for Whites Creek. What's more, Gordon also posted a 60% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Darien Clay was another key player, putting up four points and seven rebounds.

Portland's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Whites Creek, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Portland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-54 defeat against Upperman on the 26th. As for Whites Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-48 loss against Tennessee Heat on the 26th.
