Basketball Game Preview: Sheridan Rams vs. Bennett Tigers

Sheridan is 1-7 against Bennett since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sheridan Rams will head out to face off against the Bennett Tigers at 6:00 p.m.

Sheridan is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 57-22 loss at the hands of Arrupe Jesuit.

Meanwhile, Bennett made easy work of Jefferson on Thursday and carried off a 46-26 win. The Tigers pushed the score to 40-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Saints cut but never quite recovered from.

Sheridan better keep an eye on Jessica Venneberg. She was instrumental in Bennett's win, going 7 for 13 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Venneberg has scored at least a third of Bennett's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Schroeder, who posted six points and six steals.

Bennett was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Bennett is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Sheridan, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Sheridan was taken down by Bennett 49-15 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Sheridan, Lily Venneberg (who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
