Baseball Recap: Westinghouse Comes Up Short

Westinghouse extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 4-4 in the process. They came up short against the Clemente Wildcats, falling 13-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-4 on Monday.

Uziel Ojeda made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Josiah Allen was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

As for Clemente, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.

On Clemente's side, Keyvert Gonzalez was incredible, firing off two home runs and one stolen base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Gonzalez has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Westinghouse didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-3 defeat against Farragut on the 25th. As for Clemente, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 4-3 victory against Northside on the 28th.
