Baseball Game Preview: Wade Hampton Generals vs. Spartanburg Vikings

Wade Hampton is 2-7 against Spartanburg since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wade Hampton Generals will look to defend their home field against the Spartanburg Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Spartanburg took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Wade Hampton, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Wade Hampton narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Gaffney 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Generals.

Will Kay was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Spartanburg was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against James F. Byrnes, falling 13-2.

Spartanburg's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4. As for Wade Hampton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
