Madison Highland Prep is a perfect 5-0 against Red Rock since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Heat will host the Scorpions at 6:00 p.m. Red Rock took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Madison Highland Prep, who comes in off a win.
Madison Highland Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Arete Prep 20-3 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Heat, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Anthony Kritikos made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Madison Highland Prep's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-11 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Madison Highland Prep got a massive performance out of Raul Sotelo Baltazar, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Sotelo Baltazar a new career-high. Aidan Zuber was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
Madison Highland Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .850. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Red Rock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They came up short against Camp Verde, falling 15-0.
The win made it two in a row for Madison Highland Prep and bumps their season record up to 6-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Red Rock, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14-1.
