Basketball Recap: Sibley East Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Sibley East and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Sibley East had to settle for second. They came up short against the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers, falling 60-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wolverines have suffered since January 3rd.

Sibley East has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points over those games. The victory made it two in a row for Waterville-Elysian-Morristown and bumps their season record up to 15-12.

Sibley East will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Maple River at 5:45 p.m. on March 14th. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
