Softball Recap: Cheshire Finds Playoff Glory Versus Trumbull

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cheshire had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Trumbull Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cheshire is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Trumbull, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Coming up, Cheshire will square off against Norwich Free Academy on Friday. Trumbull does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
