Lafayette dropped their record down to 22-8 on Thursday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Lexington Catholic Knights by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Generals' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lafayette saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Music, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

As for Lexington Catholic, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games.

On Lexington Catholic's side, the result came thanks to Abby Hammond's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks. Hammond has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 20 consecutive appearances.

Lafayette didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-12 win against Frederick Douglass on the 26th. Lexington Catholic has also already played their next match (against Scott County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
