Recap: West Iredell Warriors vs. North Lincoln Knights
The West Iredell Warriors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 38-7 defeat at the hands of North Lincoln. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Iredell in their matchups with North Lincoln: they've now lost five in a row.
North Lincoln found their leader in underclassman Shannon Wingate, who rushed for 268 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Wingate is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Tanner Ayers made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
West Iredell's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for North Lincoln, the victory was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
West Iredell will head out on the road to face off against North Iredell at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. North Iredell is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for North Lincoln, they will be playing at home against East Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Lincoln is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
