Volleyball Recap: Woodland Park Panthers vs. Manitou Springs Mustangs
After flying high against Atlas Preparatory School last Thursday, Woodland Park came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Manitou Springs Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Woodland Park sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 18-25, 27-25, 22-25, 16-14.
Clara Levingston paced Woodland Park's offense, picking up 18 kills. Levingston got some help from Jazmaine Slocum and her 31 assists. Finally, Levingston was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.
Woodland Park has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Manitou Springs, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.
