Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for South

South proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 38) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the North Stars 59-56. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Stars are ranked 190th).

South's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.8 points. As for North, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 22-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South will face off against Tehachapi at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Tehachapi's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
