Basketball Recap: Arbor View Falls Short Against Ranked Mojave

On Tuesday, Arbor View faced Mojave in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Arbor View Aggies took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mojave Rattlers. While the Aggies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rattlers 20-15 in the first quarter.

C.J. Shaw was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds for Mojave. What's more, Shaw also racked up seven steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2023. Zacarrion Jackson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Arbor View's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Mojave, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arbor View will host Coronado at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Arbor View's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Mojave, they will challenge Sierra Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Mojave has won three straight at home, while Sierra Vista won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
