Recap: Killeen Kangaroos vs. Shoemaker Wolves
The Killeen Kangaroos lost against the Shoemaker Wolves back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Killeen was beaten by Shoemaker 63-17. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Killeen in their matchups with Shoemaker: they've now lost five in a row.
Leading Shoemaker to victory were Jerrod Hicks-Maddox and Tyrieke Wade. Hicks-Maddox gained 228 total yards and four touchdowns, while Wade threw for 334 yards and five touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Hicks-Maddox's longest reception was for an incredible 82 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Brown, who gained 109 total yards and a touchdown.
Killeen has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Shoemaker, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Killeen will head out on the road to face off against Waco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waco has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25. As for Shoemaker, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Granbury at 7:00 p.m. Granbury is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
