Softball Game Preview: Cape Coral Seahawks vs. Oasis Sharks

The Cape Coral Seahawks will take on the Oasis Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cape Coral is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Cape Coral earned a 6-2 victory over Estero. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Seahawks.

Emma Brannan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jocelyn Slater was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Oasis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 7-4 to Port Charlotte.

Oasis saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyra Cavender, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Cape Coral pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Oasis, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cape Coral has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .494. However, it's not like Oasis struggles in that department as they've averaged .510. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Cape Coral beat Oasis 4-0 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Seahawks repeat their success, or do the Sharks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
