Softball Recap: Filer Comes Up Short

After flying high against Jerome on Friday, Filer came back down to earth. The Wildcats came up short against the Tigers on Friday, falling 16-5. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 9-3.

Filer saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Heidi Winegar, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Filer's loss dropped their record down to 7-12-1. As for Jerome, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Looking ahead, Filer will square off against Kimberly at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Jerome, they will take on Twin Falls at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Bruins have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
