Softball Recap: Capuchino's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Capuchino hadn't done well against Aragon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Dons. 11 seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Lola Sierra spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Star Gutierrez and Avery Motroni did most of the damage at the plate: Gutierrez went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI, while Motroni went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Brianna Lopiccolo also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Capuchino lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory was the third in a row for Capuchino, bringing their record up to 8-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Aragon, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

Capuchino didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 victory against Carlmont on the 17th. As for Aragon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-0 win against King's Academy on the 17th.
