Basketball Game Preview: Battle Ground Academy Wildcats vs. Grace Christian Academy Lions

Battle Ground Academy and Grace Christian Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats duke it out with the Grace Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Battle Ground Academy and six for Grace Christian Academy.

Last Tuesday, Battle Ground Academy lost to Providence Christian Academy at home by a 43-26 margin. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the LIONS are ranked 25th).

Despite the defeat, Battle Ground Academy had strong showings from Anne Gentry Lambert, who posted six points, and Khloe Burton, who put up ten points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Grace Christian Academy was beaten by Franklin Road Academy 54-18 on Tuesday.

Battle Ground Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10. As for Grace Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Everything came up roses for Battle Ground Academy against Grace Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 56-14 win. In that game, Battle Ground Academy amassed a halftime lead of 35-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
