Soccer Game Preview: Catalina vs. Empire

Catalina and Empire are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but likely not for long. The Catalina Trojans will face off against the Empire Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Catalina will be strutting in after a win while Empire will be coming in after a loss.

Catalina's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Tanque Verde. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Empire entered their contest against Flowing Wells on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Empire came up short against Flowing Wells, falling 4-1. The match was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Ravens struggled afterwards.

Catalina has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those six contests. As for Empire, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.

Catalina came up short against Empire in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, falling 3-1. Can Catalina avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
