Recap: Roane County Raiders vs. Clay County Panthers
The Roane County Raiders were the 41-23 winner over the Clay County Panthers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Roane County took a 42-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clay County on Saturday.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shaun Caldwell, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Will Odle, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Roane County's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Clay County, their win ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roane County will take on Sissonville at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. As for Clay County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Calhoun at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Calhoun focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Friday.
