Volleyball Game Preview: Leadership Academy Falcons vs. Phoenix Academy Firebirds

The Leadership Academy Falcons will challenge the Phoenix Academy Firebirds at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Leadership Academy's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Phoenix Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

On Tuesday, Leadership Academy got the win against Millennium by a conclusive 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Leadership Academy was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-11, 25-7.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leadership Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison East, who had six assists and four aces.

East wasn't the only good server: Leadership Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Phoenix Academy made easy work of Piedmont Classical on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-6, 25-18.

Leadership Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Phoenix Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
