Jackson South Side's tournament run continued when they took on South Gibson on Saturday. Jackson South Side snuck past South Gibson with a 50-44 victory.

Jaidynn Askins was her usual excellent self, going 7 of 13 on her way to 23 points in addition to five boards and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aydison Dilworth, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 12 points and four steals.

Jackson South Side smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Jackson Christian posted their closest win since November 30th on Saturday. It was close, but they capped 2024 with a 67-64 victory over Fayette Ware.

Jackson South Side's record now sits at 10-2. As for Jackson Christian, their record now sits at 12-4.
