Recap: Catoctin Cougars vs. Middletown Knights
The Catoctin Cougars put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 58-34 margin over Middletown. Catoctin might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matches by 22 points or more this season.
Catoctin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Smith out in front who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Kylie Perhach was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Catoctin's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.67 points. As for Middletown, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2.
Catoctin will head out on the road to face off against Clear Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Middletown will finish 2023 at home by hosting Herndon at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Herndon is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
