Basketball Game Preview: Linfield Christian Lions vs. Chaminade Eagles

Two dominant guards in Daniel Crawford and Jonas Thurman are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Linfield Christian Lions and the Chaminade Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Friday, Linfield Christian had to suffer through a 72-45 loss at the hands of Murrieta Valley. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 427th, while the Nighthawks are ranked 173rd).

Meanwhile, Chaminade had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 47-39 win over the Titans. The 47-point effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Linfield Christian better keep an eye on Thurman. He was instrumental in Chaminade's win, going 9 of 18 on his way to 24 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Magee, who posted ten points.

Linfield Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Chaminade, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
