Baseball Game Preview: Los Gatos Wildcats vs. Homestead Mustangs

For the second straight game, Los Gatos will face off against Homestead. The Wildcats will take on the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Los Gatos has seven straight victories, Homestead has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Los Gatos proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 13) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Homestead 3-2.

For Homestead's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Hamburger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Hamburger is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Los Gatos pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Homestead, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
