Baseball Recap: Homestead Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Homestead and St. Francis squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Homestead had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Sharks by a score of 1-0.

Andrew Sun was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base. Homestead is 2-1 when Sun posts three or more hits, but 11-15 otherwise.

Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 13-16. As for St. Francis, they now have a winning record of 15-14.

Homestead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Francis, they will face off against Santa Clara on Friday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something the Sharks surely won't give up without a fight.
