Basketball Recap: Cedaredge Falls Short of Colorado Springs Christian in the Playoffs

Cedaredge and Colorado Springs Christian squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Cedaredge had to settle for second. They fell 48-39 to the Lions. The match marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Cedaredge lost, don't look at Carley Malinowski. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Malinowski is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Sammy Denison was another key player, shooting 45% from the field to rack up 14 points.

Colorado Springs Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rose Ross out in front who went 6-for-8 on her way to 18 points. What's more, Ross also posted a 75% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Abigail Perry, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cedaredge fell to 25-1. As for Colorado Springs Christian, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 23-3.

Cedaredge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 39-31 loss against Resurrection Christian on the 14th.
