Football Recap: Babcock Comes Up Short

Babcock fell victim to Sarasota Christian and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Blazers. The Trailblazers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Sarasota Christian had a senior duo take command as Ben Milliken threw for 249 yards and a pair of touchdowns and Travis Miller gained 78 total yards and two touchdowns. Milliken's passing game has become a key predictor of the Blazers' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Collin Lawson was in the mix too, providing Sarasota Christian with one TD.

Babcock's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Sarasota Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Looking ahead, Babcock will welcome Cambridge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Sarasota Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Keswick Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders' defense has only allowed 11.3 points per game this season, so the Blazers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
