Softball Recap: Southern Durham Spartans vs. Granville Central Panthers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against J.F. Webb, Southern Durham was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Granville Central Panthers with a sharp 18-9 win. For Southern Durham, this counts as revenge for the 17-16 defeat Granville Central walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

Jasmyn Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Wilson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Wilson was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anaiah Bailey, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.
