Softball Recap: Arizona Lutheran Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Fountain Hills

Arizona Lutheran Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They came out on top against the Fountain Hills Falcons by a score of 5-2. This was payback for the Coyotes, who suffered a 14-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jenna Danzeisen made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, Kaylee Pufahl was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was JJ Grams, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arizona Lutheran Academy is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge Miami at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fountain Hills, they will challenge Camp Verde at 3:45 p.m. on March 11th.
