Baseball Game Preview: Polytechnic Panthers vs. Alhambra Moors

The Polytechnic Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Alhambra Moors at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Polytechnic nor Alhambra posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Friday, Polytechnic came up short against Flintridge Prep and fell 4-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caiden Kennedy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, Polytechnic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Phillips, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Alhambra came up short against Montebello on Friday, falling 9-2.

Alhambra's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-5-1. As for Polytechnic, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Polytechnic skirted past Alhambra 3-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2021. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Moors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
