Volleyball Recap: Buena Vista Comes Up Short

Buena Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Mercy Monarchs. The Bison were not able to make up for their loss to the Monarchs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-14, 25-12.

Ellie Dutcher paced Buena Vista's offense, picking up four kills. Dutcher got some help from Lisette Esteban and her nine assists.

Buena Vista's record now sits at 1-18. As for Mercy, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season.

Buena Vista didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Cornerstone Christian School on the 11th. As for Mercy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Omaha South on the 13th.
