Baseball Recap: Federal Way Gets the Win

The Federal Way Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the White River Hornets 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Orlando Young spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has become a key player for Federal Way: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 2-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Federal Way's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Thoma Holden, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Holden is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games he's played dating back to last season.

Federal Way's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for White River, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Federal Way will have a chance to go back-to-back against White River: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
