Valley Falls got a massive performance out of Breckyn Moore, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Brown, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Moore wasn't the only one making solid contact: Valley Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits in four consecutive games.
13 must be Pleasant Ridge's lucky number: they beat Horton with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Rams blew past the Chargers 13-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Gracie Kern was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Maggie Lance was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Valley Falls pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 15.0 runs this season. As for Pleasant Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Valley Falls has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .590. However, it's not like Pleasant Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .438. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Valley Falls took their win against Pleasant Ridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 25-9 score.
