Football Game Preview: Moore Catholic Mavericks vs. Xaverian Clippers

The Moore Catholic Mavericks will challenge the Xaverian Clippers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Moore Catholic 6.4, Xaverian 14.3) so any points scored will be well earned.

Xaverian will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Moore Catholic extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Mavericks claimed a resounding 32-0 victory over St. Jean Baptiste. Considering the Mavericks have won five contests by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 33 points the game before, Xaverian was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They took a 19-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Notre Dame Academy.

Moore Catholic pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.0 points on average over those games. As for Xaverian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
