Football Recap: Bridgeport Central Takes a Loss

Bridgeport Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 45-0 loss at the hands of the Danbury Hatters. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hilltoppers of the 54-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2021.

Anajae Kearney threw for 124 yards while completing 71.4% of his passes. William Bramwell was his top target, picking up 95 receiving yards.

Bridgeport Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Danbury, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bridgeport Central will challenge McMahon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hilltoppers will be up against the Senators' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.63 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Danbury, they will face off against Westhill at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
