While Hannibal's victory against Illini West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Chargers 2-1 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since September 29th.

Hannibal had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-16, 25-23.

Marissa Falconer paced Hannibal's offense, picking up 20 kills. Falconer got some help from Aly Falconer and her 19 assists. Marissa was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Hannibal's victory bumped their record up to 21-9-1. As for Illini West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-10.

Hannibal wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Marshall on the 14th. As for Illini West, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Rushville-Industry on the 14th.
