Basketball Game Preview: Plattsmouth Blue Devils vs. Beatrice Orangemen

The Plattsmouth Blue Devils just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Beatrice Orangemen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Plattsmouth beat Nebraska City 54-48. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Beatrice earned a 54-42 win over Seward last Friday.

Plattsmouth better keep an eye on Harrison Vetrovsky. He was instrumental in Beatrice's win, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. Thanks to that strong game, Vetrovsky now owns an excellent 45.3% field goal percentage. Boston Crawford was another key player, shooting 45% from the field en route to 14 points and five rebounds.

Beatrice was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Plattsmouth's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Beatrice, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Everything came up roses for Plattsmouth against Beatrice in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, as the squad secured a 66-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
