Volleyball Recap: Thunderridge's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of four wins, ThunderRidge's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Chaparral Wolverines by a score of 3-2. If the Grizzlies were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

ThunderRidge couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Chaparral a tough time in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 22-25, 30-32, 25-16, 15-11.

Cowan Dohrman paced ThunderRidge's offense, picking up 14 kills. Dohrman got some help from Aidan Edinger and his 39 assists. Edinger was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Ethan Southwell, who had 13 digs and two assists. Those 13 digs gave him a new career-high.

ThunderRidge's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Chaparral, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season.

ThunderRidge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chaparral, they have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Rock Canyon on the 29th.
