Preview: Jefferson Dragons vs. Jackson Jaguars
The Jefferson Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jackson Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Jefferson can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eastside 35-0 on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Jefferson just coasted through the last quarter.
Jefferson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sammy Brown led the charge by rushing for 181 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Zay Minish, who picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Jackson put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Tri-Cities 37-13. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Jackson.
Jackson can attribute much of their success to Kenyon Gilliam, who rushed for 199 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Rashad Harp was another key contributor, throwing for 44 yards and two touchdowns.
Jefferson has yet to lose a matchup on the road this season, leaving them with a 10-0 record. As for Jackson, their victory bumped their record up to 5-5.
