Basketball Recap: Deer Creek Starts Season with Victory Against Indianola Academy

Deer Creek had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Indianola Academy Colonels by a score of 45-32.

Indianola Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Patrick Davis, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Morgan, who posted seven points along with five boards and three steals.

Looking ahead, Indianola Academy will venture away from home to challenge Carroll Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th. Deer Creek will be paying especially close attention to the Colonels' game: after the Colonels face off against the Rebels, they'll take on Deer Creek again at 7:00 p.m. on the 20th.
