Softball Recap: East Central's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

While East Central's win against Madison wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans skirted past the Cubs 4-3. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on five straight.

Rose Yunger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, East Central's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Avery Seal, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

East Central pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Madison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

East Central will venture away from home to face off against Rushville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Madison, they will host Trinity Lutheran at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cubs are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
